About me
I’m a creative and collaborative visual journalist with an emphasis in digital video production.
From the time I can remember, I have always been fascinated by video cameras. It started with me begging my dad to let me look through the viewfinder on our Sony DCR-TRV900 when he would film home movies throughout my childhood. From that point forward, my interest and passion for video storytelling has only grown.
That love pushed me to attend The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University for both my undergraduate and graduate education. While at Cronkite, I’ve produced several large-scale multimedia projects that fused photography, writing and interactives to create the most engaging stories. I also reported, translated and presented news packages in Spanish for Cronkite Noticias.
I have had the opportunity to report on the U.S.-Mexico border and Peru, which has improved my Spanish-speaking abilities. In 2019, I traveled across the country for an in-depth investigation about natural disaster mitigation and recovery, which won a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism award.
These experiences have reinforced my commitment to amplifying the voices of historically excluded groups of people through powerful visual storytelling.
